Hot off the Shuttles!

Used my brand new toys today for the first time. I love the beautiful colors of tge Lizbeth "Fruit Fizz". I am also really loving my new shuttles! The GR8 shuttles definitly deserve their name, and it feels nice to make beautiful lace with beautiful tools:-) Now what could I be making. For now I will leave that a mystery...

  1. I love your new shuttles! What woods are they made of? The bottom shuttle looks similar to mine, which is honeysuckle burl wood, but I don't know what the purple one is? clawecki@ gmail. com

    1. Carol, you are correct. The bottom is honeysuckle burl and the top is box elder. I sn not sure if the coloring is natural or dye. Beautiful either way:-) And I hadn't tried fruit fizz before but am loving the colors!! One of my favorites now too!

  2. How did I miss that lovely thread when in the USA? So often they look so different when worked than when they are on the ball. Your shuttles look great too but can't say too much as I am speaking from the home of the pop-a-bobbin shuttles!!!

    1. Sally, I LOVE my pop-a-bobbin shuttles! I currently have two- one in ebony and one in cherry:-) I would love to purchase more one day. I am loving the GR8 shuttles, but I will admit the pop-a-bobbins are very convenient when removing the bobbin as there is no need to tighten screws. Also I hadn't had to adjust tensions on the pop-a-bobbins and do with these. Still I have no real complaints either because once filled and adjusted they work beautifully. The verdict then is I love them all:-) BTW...Sally I can send you a sample of the fruit fizz if you would like to try it. Just send your address. dalemarie75@gmail.com

  3. Do you recommend single bobbin or double bobbin?
